On 1 July 2025, the Department of Home Affairs increased visa application charges across almost all subclasses β€” including Partner visas, the newly named Skills in Demand visa (formerly Temporary Skills Shortage), and Student visas.

The Partner visa application fee for onshore and offshore applicants has increased to:

  • Primary applicant: $9,365
  • Additional applicant 18+: $4,685
  • Under 18: $2,345

As of July 2025, the Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa has been renamed the:

It covers three streams (Core Skills, Labour Market, and Specialist Skills), and the new fees are:

  • Base application charge: $3,210
  • Additional applicant 18+: $3,210
  • Under 18: $805
  • Subsequent temporary application charge: $700

This is relevant if you’re an Australian employer sponsoring overseas staff or a worker transitioning from a Student or Graduate visa.

Planning to study in Australia? The Student visa fee has seen a significant increase:

  • Base charge: $2,000 (From $1600)

  • Onshore subsequent application: $700

Graduate Visa Cost: 

  • Base charge: $2300
  • Additional Applicant: $1150
  • Subsequent Entrant: $2300
